👉️ both, few, a few, several, many以及others做主詞的時候, 動詞永遠用複數.

👉️ 由or連接的兩個以上主語時,動詞和最接近的主語一致.

You or he is wrong.

Are you or he wrong?

👉️ 由either…or, neither…nor, not only…but also連接兩個以上的主詞時,動詞和最近的主詞一致.

Either he or you have to tell the truth.

Neither my brother nor his friends are over 18 years old.

Not only the basketball players but also the coach was very nervous.

👉️ 如果主詞是由“a kind of ( a series of ) 構成， 謂語一般用單數。

This kind of men is dangerous.

👉️ 如果是many/much，謂語動詞要用複數。

There are many kinds of apples.

👉️ 由some, any, no, every構成的複合代名詞(sb,sth---)和each, either, neither, one, the other, another, little, a little, much, no one, nothing做主詞的時候,謂語動詞用單數.

👉️ 若主詞的複數名詞表示的是”一段時間”, “一筆錢”, “一段距離”, “一個數量”, “一個面積”的時候用動詞單數

Two weeks is to enough for me to finish it.

Five thousand dollars is too much.

👉️ 倒裝句的特色：

(1)主語是名詞，謂語是不及物動詞，如go, lie, com, run等；

(2)句首是表示時間、地點、方向、方式的副詞或介系詞片語，謂語是聯繫動詞或半聯繫動詞。如：Between Britain and Ireland, in the Irish Sea, lies the small Isle of Man.

👉️ 當there, here, then, now等副詞在句首，且謂語是come, go, be等動詞時，句子通常要全部倒裝。這是為了引起他人的注意。

如果這類句子的主語是代名詞，則不用寫成倒裝句。

如： Now, here comes the good part.

👉️ 在There be…的句式中，There只是個引導詞而不是主語，真正的主語是後面作表語的名詞或者名詞片語。

因此，There be…的句式都是全部倒裝的句子。
如：There are large numbers of students in the lecture hall.

👉️ 書名，劇名，報紙名，國名的複數名詞作主語，謂語動詞用單數。

The united states is a capitalist country.

👉️ 一些名詞只有複數形式，如clothes, scissors, trousers, shorts, scales 等， 作主語時謂語用複數形式

👉️ 但是成雙的東西前面有a pair of 要用單數。
